Fighting against Climate Change with a Tech-driven Sustainable E-commerce Marketplace Climate change is the biggest challenge of our time. A growing base of conscious consumers are taking action by leading the sustainability movement. 77% of consumers are concerned about the environmental impact of the products they buy and are engaging 8 times more with sustainable brands on social media than conventional brands. Yet three-quarters of consumers don’t know how or where to find sustainable products they need. We are launching the first technology-driven sustainable e-commerce marketplace in Q4 2022 to address this. Despite the abundance of data, traditional CPG brands and e-commerce platforms have made little progress in calculating their environmental impact. That’s why they are unable to address the needs of eco-conscious consumers. We are changing that by helping our customers to measure, own, and reduce their carbon footprint by switching to high-quality, sustainable products from a wide selection of independent mission-driven brands curated by Flora. We built a proprietary Lifecycle Assessment tool to calculate the environmental impact of all of our products and we provide transparent quantitative and qualitative insights to our customers.   • Why We Built Flora

    Flora was built to empower people to live sustainably in their daily lives. Our vision is to pioneer the next generation of mainstream sustainable living, stems from a single desire – to positively impact our environment. We started by identifying the problem first before developing a solution. In conducting research, we discovered that there was a growing base of eco-conscious consumers who were taking action against climate change. However, almost three-quarter of them do not know how or where to find sustainable products. We were gripped by the idea and wanted to solve this problem by making sustainable products more accessible to consumers. Using our skills and experience, we developed a plan to acquire, reinvent and scale independent eco-conscious consumer product brands that had tons of potential, all with a goal of distributing them on the largest sustainable e-commerce platform to our customers. We knew that if we executed this plan well, we could disrupt an entire industry and positively impact the world. We started working on a business plan for Flora in June 2021 and in a few short months, in September 2021, we started all operations, raising capital, acquiring our first of many brands, and building a skilled team that could operate all parts of the newly acquired businesses. Today, we have a scalable, technology-driven approach to operating our brands and systematically adding value for consumers and the environment. We believe we have a responsibility to entrepreneurs who put our environment first, so we choose to invest in sustainable businesses that prioritize and invest in our wellbeing next.     Over the past few decades, e-commerce has become a cultural phenomenon that is here to stay. The emergence of e-commerce has been praised by many for its immediate access to better products, wider selection, and lower prices and for reducing barriers for entrepreneurs to create meaningful brands online. As successful as the e-commerce space has become, it is often overlooked how it has negatively impacted the environment - from carbon emissions that pollute our air to excess waste that ends up in landfills and harmful objects being dumped in our oceans.   • Flora’s Evolution: A New Brand Identity to Reflect Our Ambition

    As Flora’s business continues to take root and expand, it’s important that our brand identity reflects the company’s evolution. We first started Flora as a B2B platform, with our main audience entrepreneurs, and focusing on acquiring Amazon FBA businesses. Fast forward to today, our business looks different in just a few months. Over the past couple of months, we have evolved to be entrepreneur-first but not entrepreneur only. Today, we serve entrepreneurs, eco-conscious consumers, and investors. To reflect this new reality, we decided to evolve our brand identity to support a more modern, simple, and organic look. Flora’s refreshed visual identity includes a new logo, wordmark, typography, and color. Guided by our mission, to make quality, sustainable products more accessible and affordable for people who care about themselves, their loved ones, and the planet, we believe making small sustainable choices can change the world. And we follow our core company values to do just that. In our new logo, we captured Flora’s core values in four pillars, Sustainable, Ambitious, Authentic, and Innovative, each represented in a different shade of green: Sustainable Flora is purposeful in its business model, aiming to set an example for businesses, teaching consumers to be sustainable while positively impacting the environment. Ambitious We back up our mission and purpose by holding ourselves responsible for the ambitious commitments we make to ourselves, our customers, our partners, and the planet. Authentic We aren’t perfect - no company is - but we're honest about the positive impact we make and we're transparent about our opportunities for improvement.
